You have just taken the first step into the
new world of environmentally friendly, biobased products designed to
replace and outperform competitive petroleum produts! Building codes and
compliances are dramatically changing. The Federal
Government has set the task of the U.S. Department of Energy and U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency to mandate that all States must use the ASHRAE 90.1-2004 building construction and energy efficiency codes as a
MINIMUM LEVEL standard to enforce in new and restorative construction. The
Federal Government has also mandated that all federally funded projects
must utilize biobased products as preferential procurement under the U.S.
Farm Bill Act of 2002 and
Architects today are utilizing the U.S.
Green Buildings Council’s L.E.E.D. building performance guidelines for
energy efficiency and environmentally friendly building design. These
mandates, and future requirements are going to change the way the building
products are created today and into the future.
